Bass Culture
Bass Culture is a collaborative project between producer David Randall and lyricist/vocalist Simon Cooke. The two met in 2003 when their paths crossed working at 'The Lost Gardens of Heligan' near St Austell, Cornwall. The potential for a musical collaboration was clear and it was not long before the first recording session and the production of 'Limbo' (not on the album) was complete. Although a simple track, it paved the way for many more and led to the development of a truly original style. After some long delays with David going to university and Simon travelling, the debut album 'Life's A Beach' was eventually completed. It spans a wide range of genres from Hip Hop to drum n bass and house and retains a deliberately summery feel for the most part but with a little deviation here and there to keep listeners on their toes. The debut album is now available to buy and the Bass Culture project continues...
